Accord Commerz Sponsors Event at IIM Lucknow

IIM Lucknow Campus hosted the second edition of Aarohan, the annual cultural and management festival, on Dec 20 and Dec 21, 2019, in association with Accord Commerz. The event was inaugurated by the chief guest for the ceremony, Mr. Awadhesh Singh, Sr Director, Barclays. The event commenced with a business conclave on “Development Vs Conservation, A zero-sum game”.

The panel consisted of eminent leaders in their respective fields including Ajay Dwivedi (ex-Board member, ONGC), Varun Vijay (Operations manager and innovation consultant, Cisco), Shankar Venkateswaran (Operating partner and Head ESG Ecube Investment Advisor Pvt Ltd), Ankur Chaturvedi (Head of international supply chain and projects, Emami Ltd). The interactive session involved discussions about the need for development and conservation, which was moderated by Prof Kaushik Bandhopadhyay.

The corporate leaders discussed the current situation and possible steps that shall be taken by business in order to put sustainability and conservation in running businesses successfully. Technical advancements and their possible usages in terms of curbing down the social and environmental burden were discussed. The session engaged the audience, and the speakers provided opinions and answered to the queries.

Day 2 of the event had in store a line-up of exciting events, commencing with a business conclave on “Global Downturn-opportunities for emerging economies”. Inspirational leaders from different industries including Mr Avinash Parhi (Vice President, Indfi), Dr Subi Chaturvedi (Distinguish public policy professional, Fr. Member MAG, United Nation-IGF), Mr Sourabh Sharma (Sr. Director, Droom Technology), Mr Rachit Batham (Asso. Partner, IBM) graced the occasion and engaged the audience with their take on Digital Transformation and Business Innovation. They emphasized on the need for moving beyond traditional learning and migrating to experimental thinking.

A plethora of exciting competition was organized by the student clubs in the domains of marketing, operations, sustainability, and entrepreneurship in association with Daily Objects, Emami, Delberto, Design Studio, and Monster. Candidates from colleges across India put their best foot forward and battled it out, giving fierce competition to one another. The 2nd-day event closed with a Movie and Karaoke Night along with the snacks where students danced and enjoyed a warm bonfire in the chilling winters.
